Pyramid Mountain Lumber is the oldest surviving family owned and operated lumber mill in Montana. Since 1949. Pyramid’s certified graders are consistent recipients of the Hi-Q award from the WWPA. Seven were so honored in 2011. This award is given to graders who demonstrate an accuracy of 95 percent or better in monthly inspections. In 2009, the mill was the recipient of the Hi-Q award given to mills in which 75 percent of the inspected production has been graded by individual Hi-Q winners.
Tricon Timber is the largest family-owned mill in the state of Montana. Breaking ground in 1989, Tricon came on line in May of 1991 and is a full-service facility which utilizes 100% of all wood
products with no waste. Originally designed to produce 12 mmbf annually, Tricon’s current
production is 100 mmbf. Primarily constructed to produce stud framing lumber.
